Thomas Jefferson Intermediate School Freedom Walk
September 6, 2017 - Beeville, Texas
Thomas Jefferson Intermediate students and staff will hold their annual “America Supports You” Freedom Walk on Friday, September 8th at 9:00AM.
In 2005, the people at the US Department of Defense held their first walk in Washington, DC to honor and remember our troops serving around the world, the service of our Veterans, and the victims of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
This Monday, September 11th marks 16 years since the attacks on our country. Joining those in Washington, DC and others in cities all over the United States, our students, teachers and staff at Thomas Jefferson will hold our annual freedom walk around the perimeter of the former Madderra Academy and current Tyler Head Start building.
If you wish to join the walk please do so and bring pictures of any soldiers, First Responders (police, firefighters, EMS workers) that you wish to honor or send it with your students to carry during the walk. This is a special event that helps us all remember what occurred on that tragic day. It is also a way to honor and say thank you to all of our Veterans, past and present, for protecting our freedom.
Thank you for your support of this important remembrance. Contact Coach Bryce at gbryce@beevilleisd.net at Thomas Jefferson for more information!
