COVID-19 DASHBOARD

In an effort to keep our parents, staff, and community informed, the COVID-19 dashboard will be updated daily to reflect active test-confirmed COVID-19 cases in Beeville ISD. Consistent with school notification requirements for other communicable diseases, and consistent with legal confidentiality requirements, Beeville ISD will notify all teachers, staff, and families of all students in a school if a lab-confirmed OR possible COVID-19 case is identified among students, teachers or staff who participate in any on-campus activities. Beeville ISD is committed to transparency as we communicate during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it does take time to determine facts and details of a reported case when we learn about it, and we ask for your patience as we work to first take care of the individuals who test positive and anyone in which they may have come into close contact.

When the district is notified of a test-confirmed positive case, parents and staff at the impacted campus will receive direct communication from Beeville ISD. In addition, Beeville ISD will personally contact individuals who may have come in close contact (as defined by TEA) with a test-confirmed positive case on campus. If you are NOT directly contacted, then you are NOT someone who was identified as having close contact with a positive individual.

Close contact with a lab-confirmed case:

Close contact is defined as:

A) being directly exposed to infectious secretions (e.g., being coughed on);

B) being within 6 feet for a largely uninterrupted or sustained extended contact period throughout the course of a day of approximately 15 minutes;

However, additional factors like case/contact masking (i.e., both the infectious individual and the potential close contact have been consistently and properly masked), ventilation, presence of dividers, and case symptomology may affect this determination.

Either (A) or (B) defines close contact if it occurred during the infectious period of the case, defined as two days prior to symptom onset to 10 days after symptom onset. In the case of asymptomatic individuals who are test-confirmed with COVID-19, the infectious period is defined as two days prior to the confirming lab test and continuing for 10 days following the confirming lab test.

If either A or B occurred at any time in the last 10 days at the same time the infected individual was infectious, the provisions regarding close contact apply. (Updated by TEA 9/2/2020).

Any students, teachers, or staff who have had "close contact" with an individual who is test-confirmed with COVID-19, must remain off campus until the 10-day incubation period has passed.
