HMD Early Childhood Center Unveils Newly Renovated Library

HMD Early Childhood Center recently celebrated the grand opening of its newly renovated library, marking a significant milestone for students, families, and staff. 
The revamped library exemplifies Beeville ISD's commitment to fostering engaging and literacy-rich environments for early learners.

The transformation of the library was made possible through the Innovative Approaches to Literacy LEARN IT Grant, overseen by the Education Service Center, Region 2 (ESC-2).

Principal Annette Sanchez expressed enthusiasm about the renovation, highlighting how the new library space promotes exploration, creativity, and a passion for reading.

The updated library features flexible seating arrangements, a dedicated makerspace, and over $10,000 worth of new books, all designed to encourage curiosity and hands-on learning. Students now have access to reading corners, collaborative tables, and designated areas for both quiet study and active exploration.

Superintendent Travis Fanning described the library as “the heart of the school,” emphasizing Beeville ISD's dedication to academic development and early literacy. Board President Orlando Vasquez also acknowledged the importance of modern learning environments, affirming that they play a crucial role in keeping students engaged and motivated from the onset of their education.


The grand opening was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by tours of the renovated library, allowing families and community members to experience the improvements. The atmosphere was exciting as students and families explored the new reading space.The reimagined library at HMD Early Childhood Center symbolizes a renewed commitment to literacy, creativity, and community engagement. Through partnerships like the LEARN IT Grant and the support of Beeville ISD educators, the district aims to create nurturing environments where every child can grow and thrive.
