Beeville ISD

 Receives Recognition for Transparency Efforts from Texas Comptroller

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced Beeville ISD is the latest local government entity to achieve specific transparency goals through the Comptroller’s Transparency Stars program. Beeville ISD received a star in the area of Traditional Finances, which recognizes entities for their outstanding efforts in making their spending and revenue information available.

Transparency Stars recognizes local government entities that provide easy online access to important financial data.

“By providing meaningful financial data in addition to visual tools and analysis of its revenues and expenditures, Beeville ISD has shown a true commitment to Texas taxpayers. This effort achieves the goals set by my office’s Transparency Stars program,” Hegar said. “I am pleased to award Beeville ISD a star for its accomplishments.”

The Comptroller’s office launched the Transparency Stars program in March 2016 to recognize cities, counties and school districts making important strides to greater government transparency. Local government entities can apply for stars in the areas of:

• Traditional Finances,
• Contracts and Procurement,
• Economic Development,
• Public Pensions, and
• Debt Obligations.

After receiving an initial star for Traditional Finances, remaining stars may be awarded in any order. For more information on the program, including specific guidelines and information on how to apply, visit the Comptroller’s Transparency Stars website.

Beeville ISD – Creation of Reinvestment Zone 

The Beeville Independent School District (“District”) is in discussions with an alternative energy company, Blackjack Creek Wind Farm, LLC to consider the development of a solar energy project located entirely within the District at or about the intersection of TX 202 and FM 2441 and more particularly described by parcel identification numbers below. On December 13, 2021 at 5:30 PM, the District will host a public meeting for the following item:

1. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING THE CREATION OF THE BLACKJACK CREEK WIND FARM, LLC REINVESTMENT ZONE CONSISTING OF 7051.97 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, AT OR ABOUT THE INTERSECTION OF TX 202 AND FM 2441 AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED BY PARCEL IDENTIFICATION NUMBERS BELOW:

State Financial Accountability Rating

BASIC INFORMATION ABOUT BISD TAXES

• Tax Rate per $100 of value for tax year 2020: $1.1917
• Additional exemptions for disabled veterans. Contact Bee County Appraisal District for more information

PAYMENT OF PROPERTY TAXES

• Taxes generally become delinquent on February 1. If you have not received a statement before the delinquent date, please contact the Tax Assessor-Collector office at 361-621-1554 or at Bee County Tax Assessor-Collector.
• You may access your account information or pay by credit card over the Internet at: Bee County Tax Office - There is a 2.95% convenience fee to pay by credit card. This fee is not collected by the district.
• Property taxes are due upon receipt. You have from November 1 through January 31 of the taxing year to pay without penalty and interest. 
• The tax assessor collector cannot waive penalty and interest on delinquent taxes, adjust values, or ignore deadlines provided in the Texas Property Tax Code.

BEEVILLE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT

ORDINANCE TO SET TAX RATE

August 27, 2024

 

On this date, we, the Board of Trustees of Beeville School District, hereby levy or set the tax rate on

$100 valuation for the District for the 2024-2025 school year at a total rate of $1.058227, to be assessed

and collected by the duly specified tax assessor and collector designated by the District as follows:

 

$0.7575 for the purpose of maintenance and operation, and

$0.300727 for the purpose of payment of principal and interest on debts.

 

Most school districts calculate a voter-approval tax rate that is split into three separate rates.

 

Maximum Compressed Tax Rate (MCR): A district’s maximum compressed tax rate is defined as the tax

rate for the current tax year per $100 of valuation of taxable property at which the district must levy a

maintenance and operations tax to receive the full amount of the tier one allotment. The Texas

Education Agency approved an MCR rate for Beeville ISD at $0.6192.

 

Enrichment Tax Rate: A district’s enrichment tax rate is defined as any tax effort in excess of the

district’s MCR and less than $0.17. The enrichment voter approved tax rate for Beeville ISD is $0.1383.

 

Debt Rate: The debt rate includes the debt service necessary to pay the school district’s debt payments

in the coming year. This rate accounts for principal and interest on bonds and other debt secured by

property tax revenue. The debt voter approved tax rate for Beeville ISD is $0.300727.
